Cafuné is founded in 2015, at the height of the fast fashion movement. The movement dramatically changed consumer behaviour. With products becoming more accessible and affordable, they are also a lot more disposable. Products are designed for short life cycles to encourage consumers to buy anew.
Fuelled by social media’s rising influence in trend making, we face a culture of unhealthy overconsumption. On top of waste and pollution, this culture drains natural resources, hurts our environment and gives rise to unethical manufacturing.
Against the backdrop of fast fashion, we must remain steadfast in our belief and our vision to encourage responsible consumption. Careful consideration to achieve longevity and circularity leads our design process. We believe as a brand, we must take the necessary time to understand customers’ needs and wants in order to create well thought-out products for them.
Good designs are cherished, often more and more over time. They bring meaning to life, generate conversations and preserve great memories. By offering products that feel timeless and made in quality materials that last, we are encouraging a change of consumption patterns that support a culture of longevity and builds a more circular economy.
